Hi, I’m Sarah
I’m the founder of Set Apart Bookkeeping and someone who genuinely enjoys the details most business owners would rather avoid. There’s something oddly satisfying about untangling messy books, tracking down a mystery transaction, and getting everything back where it belongs.
Before starting Set Apart, I spent nearly 10 years in banking, working my way from teller to operations supervisor. I loved getting to know people, understanding what they were working toward, and helping make the financial side of things feel a little less overwhelming.
A few things about me
👨👩👧👦 Mom of four – My husband and I have four kids, so life outside of work is busy, loud, and rarely boring.
🏡 Colorado born and raised – I’ve always called Colorado home. Mountains, sunshine, wildly unpredictable weather, and all.
📚 Always reading – My TBR is growing considerably faster than I can read it.
🔨 Serial project starter – There is a very good chance I’m currently painting, refinishing, reorganizing, or otherwise messing with something in our house.
How Set Apart came to be
I started Set Apart when my family was growing, and I was looking for a way to use my experience while creating something that fit the life we were building. What began as a one-person business has grown into a team, almost entirely through referrals and long-term client relationships.
That growth has shaped Set Apart into what it is today. We keep things personal, get to know the businesses we work with, and pay attention to the details. You’ll always have someone you can reach when you have a question, and yes, you can ask me to explain it again. I really don’t mind.
